Texas Urology Group, PA was founded in 2015 by Dr. Ian M. Thompson III out of a sense of a need to establish a platform from which a more personalized approach to urologic care could be delivered.

Our Story

Medicine in the United States has undergone a lot of changes over that past few years.  Much of the change has been a result of passage of the Affordable Care Act.  Increasing mandates from CMS and insurance companies have increased the overhead for most physicians to the point that they have to pack their clinics with patients just to break even and keep the doors open.  As a result there is less time for cultivation of the doctor-patient relationship.  There has been an ever increasing intrusion from the federal government and third party payors (insurance companies). They are often the uninvited guest or third-wheel when it comes to the doctor-patient relationship.  Texas Urology Group was founded in an effort to re-establish the importance of the doctor-patient relationship.
